Baikal Vision offers a journey through the Lake Baikal. The route (400 km) runs along the eastern coast of the Lake Baikal by a motor trimaran. In this journey you will see one of the pristine and wild corners of Baikal, where no-one else ever goes.
You will enjoy fishing in Baikal and in all rivers flowing into the lake that we will meet on the way. Stops in any place you like, beautiful landscapes, hot thermal springs, excursions, visits to museums, trekking, hiking in Baikal caves and a lot of other interesting things you will see and feel in this journey.
Accommodation will be in tents for 2 or 3 persons. Full board during the whole expedition (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Portable banya (sauna). The group is accompanied by the 2 captains, guide - interpreter, cook and co-cooker.
Motor trimaran is equipped with all necessary things for this expedition: tents, portable banya, portable kitchen, full set of dishes, generator, and satellite phone.
This route is under control of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Dates of departures
Morning meeting at the airport / railway station with a nameplate Baikal Vision. Transfer to the hotel. Check-in.
Lunch in the restaurant at 13:00. Excursion with a guide in the historical center of Irkutsk: churches, the Decembrists' museum, old wooden houses, new entertaining zone “130 district”.
Free dinner. Your guide will advise you the best restaurant or cafe according your wishes and desires. Overnight at hotel.
IRKUTSK - SEVEROBAIKALSK
Breakfast. Meeting with your guide in the hotel lobby. Transfer to the hydrofoil boat. Boarding.
We have a 10-hour voyage from the west to the north coast.
Lunch on the board. During the trip you will see the beauty of Baikal shores, amazing capes and bays, feel the greatness and nobility of the sacred lake.
Arrival in Severobaikalsk – unofficial capital of the northern part of Baikal. Transfer to the hotel.
Dinner. Overnight at hotel.
SEVEROBAIKALSK – YARKI ISLAND
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Severobaikalsk port. Let’s start water journey on our trimaran. We have a 5-hour voyage Yarki island* - the most northern part of the lake. One-day stop on the island. Camping. Dinner. Excursion through the island. It’s possible to fish or swim there.
Don’t forget that we have mobile banya (sauna) and you can use it whenever we want.
Dinner. Overnight in tents.
N.B. Yarki island is famous for the warmest water in Baikal and sandy beaches. Here you can catch pike, perch, ide, dace, roach.
YARKI ISLAND – KHAKUSY AREA
Breakfast. Passage to Khakusy area. The passage takes 5-6 hours along the east Baikal coast.
Two-day stop on Khakusy area. Camping. Lunch. Excursions trough the area. It’s possible to bath in hot springs. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
N.B. Khakusy is famous for its hot medical springs.
KHAKUSY AREA - LAKE FROLIKHA
Today we have one of the most significant days. We'll go to the lake Frolikha.
Breakfast. Boarding. The trimaran will take us to the bay Ayaya. Then we will have small trekking (about 7 km). And Voila!!! Lake Frolokha!!! This lake was formed in the Ice Age, however even today the lake remains intact and clear. The water is so clear, that if you make kayaking it will create a feeling that you swim in the sky.
Picnic at the shore of lake Frolikha. After lunch you can swim and relax on the sandy beach and enjoy the beauty of nature or use services of catamarans, kayaks and boats.
Return to the bay Ayaya. Boarding. Way back to Khakusy. Dinner and overnight in tents.
KHAKUSY AREA – SHIGNANDA VILAGE
Breakfast. Boarding. Continuation of the way. Passage to Shignanda village. The passage takes 5-6 hours along the east Baikal coast. On the way we will have an excursion to the Baikal caves created by nature. Lunch served on board. Camping. Excursions trough the area. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
N.B. Shignanda village is the village of Evenki. We will have opportunity to communicate with Evenki people.
SHIGNANDA – NORTH CORDON
Breakfast. Boarding. Continuation of the way. Passage to North Cordon (Barguzin National Park). The passage takes 5-6 hours along Baikal coast. Camping. Lunch. Excursions trough the area. Dinner. Free time. Overnight in tents.
NORTH CORDON – DAVSHA VILLAGE
Breakfast. Boarding. Continuation of the way. Passage to Davsha village (heart of barguzin national park). The passage takes 3-4 hours. Camping. Lunch.
After lunch you will visit the Museum of Baikal Nature.Also you will visit the Museum of the Barguzin sable.
Dinner. Free time. You can bath in the hot springs of Davsha village. Overnight in tents.
DAVSHA VILLAGE - SOUTH CORDON
Breakfast. Boarding. Continuation of the way. Passage to South Cordon. The passage takes 4-5 hours. Camping. Lunch. Free time. Banya (sauna). Dinner. Overnight in tents.
CORDON SOUTH - CHIVYRKUISKY BAY
Breakfast. Continuation of the way. Today, we will be the biggest passage along the east coast of Lake Baikal to Chivyrkuisky Bay. The passage takes 8 hours.
Lunch served on board. Camping in a beautiful sandy bay for 2 days.
Bathing in hot medical springs. Dinner. Free time. Overnight in tents.
Breakfast. Today is free day. People who wants can do trekking to the hill and take great pictures of Baikal from bird's-eye view.
In the evening we will have a festive dinner with gifts and souvenir about the tour.
MONAKHOVO - ULAN-UDE
Breakfast. Packing. Lunch. After lunch you will have passage to Monakhovo village. From Monakhovo village you will have private transfer to Ulan-Ude. Arrival in Ulan-Ude at 6-7 p.m. . Transfer to the hotel. Free time. Overnight in a hotel.
Breakfast. Transfer to airport. End of the program.
